Turtles All The Way Down

John Green

This is an incredibly easy read that will make you feel seen and allow you to feel like someone took your insecurities and fears and made them heard. John Green creates beautiful and inspiring characters through stories that I feel typically feel real.

This read will make you feel a bit of everything, but it mostly gave me a sense of home because it’s a novel that feels real and true. It’s real people with real problems trying to make the best of an everyday situation. It’s people figuring it out day by day. That’s a wonderful thing to read and partake in.

There aren’t any crazy plot twists or action or mystery — what you see is what you get. It’s ordinary lives with ordinary challenges.

I rated this a 3/5 purely for the fact that it felt a little underdeveloped and I just felt like I was missing something. I felt like it was trying too hard to be something; anything. There were too many things involved and the plot felt stretched a little too thin for my liking.

However, I’d recommend to someone who needs that sense of solace and home because that part is easy to understand and grasp.
