TROPES/VIBES: love triangle, friends to lovers, second chance romance, strong heroine wounded hero

Out of the Colleen Hoover books I’ve deemed to read, this one was fine. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it.
All the romances are kind of annoying and severely underdeveloped. There wasn’t really anything romantic about this book. You’ll just read through the cycles of domestic abuse and abusive partners. And while I appreciate the awareness this novel brings to it and as the reader and as the reader you get to pick up on those red flags, the novel as a whole is underwhelming.
There was either too little or too much happening. The plot feels rushed and unconvincing. Certain issues could have had a deeper focus. Something overall was missing.
I don’t understand Hoover’s hype.
But it was ok. Again, I didn’t hate it, I didn’t love it. I wouldn’t read it again.
